Managing Partner Huang Hui Invited to Speak at the 3rd Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development

On September 15, 2025, the 3rd Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development was successfully held in Guangzhou. Jointly organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the conference saw the attendance of Mr. Huang Kunming, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. Mr. Jiang Xinzhi, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended and delivered a speech. Mr. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, Mr. Wang Weizhong, Governor of Guangdong Province, and Mr. Liu Jun, President of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), attended and delivered addresses. Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, and Mr. Ho Iat Seng, Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, delivered video speeches.

This edition of the conference, held for the first time in mainland China, was the largest to date. Under the theme "Empowering the Greater Bay Area, Exploring New Opportunities Together," it attracted over 1,200 representatives from government agencies and business communities across 30 countries and regions.

Our Managing Partner Mr. Huang Hui was honored to be invited to attend the conference and delivered a speech during the parallel session on "Exploring New Pathways for the Diversified Resolution of Commercial Disputes in the Greater Bay Area."

As Secretary-General of the Maritime Law Committee of the All China Lawyers Association, a Council Member of the Ministry of Justices "Belt and Road" Legal Services Alliance, a recognized "Outstanding Individual in Guangdongs Foreign-Related Rule of Law Development, and one of Guangzhou’s Top 10 Lawyers in Foreign Related Matters, Mr. Huang shared his insights from over 20 years of practice, using real cases to illustrate the evolving landscape of arbitration in China.
 

 
Mr. Huang focused particularly on the recent revisions to the Arbitration Law of the PRC, analyzing the development of China-specific ad hoc arbitration mechanisms. He offered practical observations and recommendations on key issues such as the application of ad-hoc arbitration in foreign-related maritime disputes and the granting of interim measures within mainland China  in support of foreign-seated arbitration, aimed at better serving high-quality development and high-standard opening up, and at supporting China's goal of becoming an international commercial arbitration center, were well received by the attending delegates and guests.
