Our partner Mr. Huang Hui, together with Mr. Chen Fang, Deputy Director of Guangdong Lawyers Association and Mr. Jia Hong Wei, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Foreign Affairs Committee of Guangdong Lawyers Association were invited to attend the 4th ICC Asia Conference on International Arbitration and the 10-Year Anniversary Celebration of the Secretariat’s Hong Kong Case Management Office which were held in Hong Kong from 26 to 28 June 2018.

 

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is by far the only non-governmental organization granted Observer Status to the UN General Assembly. With a global network of over 6 million members in more than 100 countries, ICC work to promote international trade, responsible business conduct and a global approach to regulation. It has a long history of drafting, formulating and advocating rules that are widely observed in international business, such as UCP 600 Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credit and the New York Convention.

 

Mr. Huang Hui also paid a visit to the Secretariat’s Hong Kong Case Management Office and had a pleasant conversation with Mr. Alexis Mourre - president of ICC International Court of Arbitration, Dr Fan Mingchao - regional director of Arbitration & ADR for North Asia at ICC, Ms. Pui-Ki Emmanuelle Ta and Ms. Theresa Tseung on the average number and most common types of cases submitted to ICC arbitration, ICC Arbitration rules and procedures, as well as the most common types of cases involving Chinese businesses. 

 

At the Conference, Mr. Huang Hui also had an in-depth discussion with keynote speaker, the Hon. Song Jianli of the Supreme People’s Court of the PRC, Ms. Shi Hong and Mr. Tao Jingzhou of ICC China on infrastructural investment risks along the One Belt One Road and dispute resolution, the influence of emergency arbitrator measure, conflict checks outside IBA Rules, and the implementation of the New York Convention in Asian countries.
