Our firm co-organises the 2021 Guangdong Shipping Law Academic Conference - Huang Hui attends and delivers a speech

The 2021 Guangdong Shipping Law Academic Conference -- the rule of law in shipping field under the concept of a maritime community with a shared future, was successfully held onboard the Pearl River cruise ship "ICBC". Our managing partner Mr. Huang Hui, senior partner Mr. Huang Anhua, and other colleagues including Ms. Zhang Fan, Ms. Chen Xiaoling, Ms. Wang Tingting, Mr. Liang Handeng and Ms. Lu Qiuxuan were invited to join this event and took part in academic discussion and sharing of views.


Under the guidance of the Guangzhou Base of the International Maritime Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, Guangdong Law Society, Guangzhou Law Society and Guangzhou Federation of Social Science Associations, the conference was co-hosted by the Shipping Law Research Association of Guangdong Law Society, the Transportation Law Research Association of Guangzhou Law Society and Guangzhou Shipping Law Research Association, in partnership with the International Shipping Law and Policy Research Center of South China Normal University, Guangzhou Silk Road Shipping Co., Ltd., Huang & Huang Co. Law Firm and others.


To better promote academic discussions and exchange of views under the background of epidemic situation, the event was broadcast live for more scholars, experts, judges, lawyers and other interested people nationwide to participate remotely. 


This year’s conference was chaired by Ms. Zeng Erxiu (managing vice president of the Shipping Law Research Association of Guangdong Law Society, president of Transportation Law Research Association of Guangzhou Law Society and Guangzhou Shipping Law Research Association and professor of School of Law of South China Normal University). Mr. Yang Xiaosheng (secretary of the Party committee of School of Law of South China Normal University) and Ms. Zhan Simin (president of the Shipping Law Research Association of Guangdong Law Society) presented in the conference and made a speech. Our managing partner Mr. Huang Hui was invited and spoke on the issues in respect of the maritime law produced under the pandemic, which received agreement and recognition of the participants. 


Centering on the topic of the rule of law in shipping field under the concept of a maritime community with a shared future, this year’s conference launched grouped academic study, having in-depth discussions and exchanging ideas concerning current development of shipping industry during pandemic, future trend and countermeasure, major maritime judicial issues arising from the pandemic and their solutions, present hot spots and difficulties in maritime trial, interpretation and application of new arbitration rules of CMAC in 2021, and a maritime community with a shared future and its practices. The conference with unique character is successful and play a significant role in rendering guidance to the theory and practice of the rule of law in shipping with the concept of a maritime community with a shared future.
